Getting Here and Around

Columbia lies in the heart of the state. It's two hours from the coast and just a little more than that from the mountains. Major interstates, along with airport, train, and bus terminals, make the city very accessible. Most of the action happens in the downtown neighborhoods of the Vista and Five Points. Devine Street, in the Shandon neighborhood, also offers plenty of boutique shopping and fine dining, and the university's football stadium, fairground, zoo, and gardens are all a short drive away. Historic Columbia runs guided tours of Columbia and rents out old properties.
