There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the beaches. Most restaurants serve standard Thai and western fare—no gourmet renditions yet. As you move away from the beach, you'll find less expensive and more atmospheric places, including some climber hangouts where trainings and socializing with fellow climbers take place.

Mukdara Beach Resort
Kata Noi Bay Inn
If you want to enjoy the serenity of Kata Noi without draining your wallet, here's the spot. All but a few of the simple, clean rooms have air-conditioning, and all have small balconies. Most rooms overlook the Kata Thani across the road, but some manage to squeeze in a limited view of the beach.
You'd be hard-pressed to find a more sparklingly dignified hotel in Thailand—nor one quite as expensive (the nightly rate for the largest of the villas is more than $8,000!). The reception area, with beautifully polished teak floors, is completely open in the dry season so that you can enjoy the ocean breezes. Here you can find two palm-shaded restaurants overlooking the blue-tiled swimming pool. Choose between rooms in secluded hillside pavilions or immense villas with a private pool. Pavilion prices differ according to the view offered; villas have between two and six bedrooms. The split-level bar has stunning sunset views. The only disappointment is the staff, which, at times, doesn't measure up to the high standards set by the price and the elegant design.
Mukdara Beach Resort
This sumptuous resort has been designed in classical Thai style, with a great deal of emphasis on wood and traditional craftsmanship. Here you'll find peaked-roof villas in landscaped tropical gardens. The main three-story building is a bit farther from the beach, and only the top floor has an ocean view. Deluxe rooms are luxurious, with hardwood floors, glass-enclosed baths that see through to the living room, and sundecks. Villas have canopy beds, triangular floor pillows, lounge areas, and outdoor rain showers.
