Medieval Barri Gòtic is a wanderer’s paradise filled with ancient winding streets, majestic squares, and a myriad of period-perfect wine bars and dimly lit pubs found in the hidden corners of labyrinthine alleyways. The adjoining La Rambla, the liveliest pedestrian promenade in the city, bustles with a dizzying array of tourist-baiting shops, eateries and arched paths to Plaça Reial’s euphoric nightlife scene. Casual and unpretentious, the scene erupts nightly with a parade of rambunctious crowds of expats, curious interlopers, and assorted celebrations.

Sala Be Cool
Sala Be Cool
Independent but not grungy, cool but not bohemian, Sala Be Cool is the club for young middle-class music lovers who want to hear the latest in electronic and other contemporary genres in comfortable, clean surroundings. Since it opened in 2006, the Tennessee Three, the Unfinished Sympathy, and Jackmaster Funk have all graced the club's intimate stage. Once the gigs are over DJ sets keep the party rocking until 5 am.
This cocktail bar for the hip and sophisticated is characterized as much by its black interior as it is by its relative scarcity of seating (the row of leather stools is no match for the crowds that flock here on weekends). Yet while Negroni can sport a celebratory vibe, its original design is as classic as the drinks served: the customer on one side, the bartender on the other, with no menu between them, just knowledgeable recommendations.
