As would be expected, Capri offers a fair spread of evening entertainment, especially on weekends and during the busier months of July and August, when many upper-crust Italians from the mainland occupy their holiday homes on the island. For music that's fairly gentle on the ears, try one of the traditional taverne, which are peculiar to Capri Town. There are also a number of discos and piano bars from which to choose, but the nightlife is more laid-back than Naples or even Ischia. On summer nights the place to be seen showing off your tan and sipping your extra-dry martini is the Piazzetta. Capri Town's Via Camerelle has the island's most popular late-night spots, often found in underground cellars.
